Obituary of Richard F. Carlson Portage Entry?Chassell Richard F. Carlson, 93, a resident of Portage Entry, Chassell, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at the Omega House in Houghton, where he was a resident patient for almost 2 weeks. He was born on August 6, 1912, in Hibbing Minnesota, a son of the late John and Anna Carlson. He later made his home in Bessemer, MI., before moving to the Chassell area to make his home in Portage Entry. Richard was a teacher in the Public School System of Chassell for over 25 years. He was united in marriage to the former Irene D. Koski on June 12, 1943, and she preceded him in death on October 14, 1997. He & his wife owned & operated "Carlsons Resort" in Portage Entry for over 50 years. Surviving are: 1 Brother; Arlo Carlson of Portage Entry, Several cousins & many friends Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2005, at 1 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell, with Rev. Elmer Liimatta to officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon till time of services on Friday. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery.
