Obituary of Robert Joseph Brunet Ripley Robert J. Brunet, 69, a resident of Ripley passed away Sunday March 11, 2012, at the Portage Hospital in Hancock following a courageous battle with lung disease. He was born on July 5, 1942, in Laurium, a son of the late George and Mabel (Bonefant) Brunet. Bob was raised in Ahmeek and attended the Mohawk and Calumet Schools. Bob lived in Green Bay, WI, Livonia, MI, and since 1975 has made his home in Ripley. On November 26, 1979, he was united in marriage to the former Mary Aho. Bob had worked as a drywall finisher for various companies in lower Michigan and locally. He also was employed by Northern Hardwoods in South Range. Bob was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock, where he was active with ushering during Sunday services. He was a member of the Ripley Fire Department and the former equipment manager for the Portage Lake Pioneers. Bob enjoyed time outdoors hunting, fishing and spending time at the family cottage in Bootjack. Preceding him in death where his parents and his brothers George and Paul. (Anne) Brunet of Hancock Ruth (Don) Lynch of Howell, MI Lisa (Tim) Dallavalle of Fond du Lac, WI Jared (Shelly) Peltier of Coles Creek His grandchildren: Travis, Amber, Mackenzie, Tyler, Grace, Haley, Kaitlyn, Josh, Tony & Katie His sister: Janet (Roy) Lahti of Arizona His 4-legged companion Dudley Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Bob will be held 11 am Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock with Licensed Lay Minister Clay Hilman to officiate. Friends may call on Thursday March 15, 2012, from 4 to 8 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock and on Friday from 10 am until time of services at the church.
