Obituary of Robert Gertcher Dollar Bay Robert Gertcher, 76, a resident of Dollar Bay passed away Friday morning July 17, 2015, at UP Health – Marquette. He was born on March 9, 1939, in Lyford, Indiana, a son of the late Joseph and Charlotte (Cornell) Gertcher. As a child, his family moved to Southfield, MI, where Bob attended the Birmingham Schools. Mr. Gertcher began a career as a mechanic at a young age and had worked for various garages and auto dealers through the years until his retirement in 1987, due to health reasons. On March 22, 1958, he was united in marriage to the former Diane Oksanen. The couple had resided in Berkley, MI, and since 1978 have made their home in Dollar Bay. Bob loved to spend his spare time fishing. Preceding him in death were his parents, his siblings Sam, Delores, Clifford, his twin brother Tom and Joann.
