Obituary of Robert A. Peterson Chassell Robert A. Peterson, 71, a resident of Chassell passed away Monday May 14, 2018, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 26, 1947, in Hancock, a son of the late Waino and Mildred (Luusua) Peterson. Robert was raised in Tapiola and was a graduate of the Doelle School. He also attended Michigan Technological University. ON March 4, 1967, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Simonson. The couple moved to the Detroit area where Robert began a career working for MDOT. He then transferred to the LAnse office, retiring in 1996, after 28 years. Since 1993, they have made their home in Chassell. Mr. Peterson was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock. Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister Mary Peterson, his great-granddaughter Evelyn Williamson and his brother-in-law: Byron Nudd. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday May 17, 2018, from 2 pm until time of services at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock.
