Obituary of Robert Michael Puuri Hancock Robert "Mike" Puuri, 52, a resident of Hancock suddenly passed away at home Tuesday November 22, 2011, following a long illness. He was born on May 24, 1959, in Hancock a son of Marie O'Connor and the late Robert Puuri. He was raised in Liminga and attended the Houghton Schools. Mike was united in marriage to Linda Congdon and the couple resided in Atlantic Mine and had two children. They had parted ways and he moved to Wyoming. Mike returned to the area and was united in marriage to the former Kim Kotila. The couple had made their home in New Hampshire for several years before returning to the area to reside in Liminga and Hurontown. The couple had separated and since that time he has resided in Chassell and more recently at the Lakeview Manor in Hancock. Mr. Puuri was a carpenter working locally for Moyle Contracting, Bruce Lyon Contracting and Eric Brown Contracting. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, following sports especially the Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings, and he also enjoyed fishing. Preceding him in death were his father, his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandparents. Surviving are his children: Levi (Audrey) Puuri of Ishpeming Sharon Puuri of Ishpeming Michael Puuri of Houghton Tina Puuri of Houghton Robbie Puuri of Houghton 7 grandchildren His mother: Marie (Dallas) Blakeman of Coal Dock Rd., Hancock His siblings: Judy (Dale) Niemi of Liminga Jeanne (Bryon) Riutta of Liminga Dennis Puuri of Liminga Gerald (Kathy) Puuri of Atlantic Mine Timothy (Shelly) Puuri of Liminga Kristine (Doug) Wales of Oregon, WI Samuel (Ami) Puuri of Sheridan, WY Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Mike will be held 11 am Saturday November 26, 2011, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Peter Vorhes to officiate. Burial will be in the Liminga Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday Noemeber 26, 2011, from 10 am until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock.
