Obituary of Robert Thomas Rule Quincy Hill Robert T. Rule, 76, a resident of Franklin Township, passed away Monday afternoon August 5, 2013, at home following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 23, 1937, in Hancock, a son of the late William and Violet Rule. He attended the local schools and received his GED in the 1990's. Mr. Rule was a veteran having served with the United States Army as a Medic/Sharp Shooter, during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rule was a carpenter and mechanic, working for various companies in the area before becoming the director for the Houghton County Transit. Bob enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He was also a Red Wings hockey fan. Preceding him in death were his father and step-mother William and Florence Rule, his mother and step-father, Violet and Wally Koski, his sister and brother-in-law Janet and Eddie Raeffaelli, his brother Fred Rule, his step-daughter, Susan Hannula and his hunting partner & best friend Joe Karry. His brother: Donald (Sally) Rule of Hancock His sister: Judy Childress of Antigo, WI His sister-in-law: Mary Rule of Ft. Meyers, FL His step-children: Cheryl (Greg) Dostal of Midland, MI Edward Wiideman of Bloomfield, NM His former wives: Phyllis (Dave) Adamson of Hancock Jean Butler of Hubbell His fishing partner: Mike "Rozzy" Rozman of rice Lake Several nieces, nephews, and cousins and a special cousin Laurie Stromer. A memorial service for Robert will be held 1 pm Monday August 12, 2013, at the Memorial Chapel funeral home of Hancock with Rev. Amy Terhune to officiate. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery at a later time. Friends may call on Monday August 12, 2013, from 12 noon until time of services at the funeral home.
