Obituary of Ronald Erickson Hurontown Ronald R. Erickson, 64, a resident of Henry St., Hurontown, passed away Thursday evening April 7, 2005, at the Portage Health Systems Hospital following a short illness. He was born on October 14, 1940, in Hancock, a son of the late Raymond Erickson and Elvie (Krym) Erickson. Ron was a graduate of the Hancock High School with the class of 1959. Mr. Erickson has resided in Hancock, Ontonagon, Greenland, Houghton, and for over the past 30 years has made his home in Hurontown. In 1972 he was preceded in death by his first wife the former Shelby Nordstrom, on September 4, 1976, he was united in marriage to the former Marian Smith-Miller. Ron had worked as a Barber locally, the White Pine Mine, and for over the past 9 years as a bus driver for the City of Houghton Motor Transit. He enjoyed Fishing, Hunting, Bowling, and spending time with his friends. Also preceding him in Death was: 1 Son: Ronald R. Erickson Jr. in 1988. Randy Miller of Hurontown Lori Anderson of Rapid City, S.D. Lisa Miller of Rapid City, S.D. 18 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren His Mother: Elvie Erickson of Hancock 2 Sisters: Nancy (Jerry) Sullivan of Gwin Alice (Jack) Powell of Hancock Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins Funeral services for Ron will be held on Tuesday April 12, 2005, in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock, with Rev. Paul Marin to officiate. Spring burial to be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton. Friends may call at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock on Monday April 11, 2005, from 5 to 8 P.M. and from 10 A.M. until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
