Ronald David Kyro

October 18, 2024 — October 18, 2024

Tapiola

Ronald Kyro,77, a lifelong resident of Tapiola passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at the UP Health Systems- Marquette hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born on November 21, 1946, in Hancock, MI son of the late Adolph and Effie (Tuohimaa) Kyro. Ron was raised in Tapiola and was a graduate of the John A. Doelle High School with the class of 1965.

Mr. Kyro was a veteran having served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War era

where he helped guard the Hercules Missiles in Germany.

Following the service Ron began a career as a welder working for Manninen Welding and Selkie's Manufacturing. He then attended Soumi College for Accounting. Ron then was employed at Lake Accounting and Superior Water & Welding before returning to welding and retiring from D&H Welding.

On June 17, 1972, he was united in marriage to Genevieve Colombe. The couple made their home of 52 years in Tapiola where they raised their two daughters.

Mr. Kyro was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church of Chassell, the Doelle Senior Citizen Center, a proud former member of the Otter Lake Fire Department, and the Karvakko's Coffee Clutch.

Ron, but to most people he was Ronnie enjoyed being in the great outdoors either hunting, fishing, or walking in the back forty. He took joy in spending time in the barn welding either farm equipment for a neighbor or miscellaneous projects that needed to be repaired. Ronnie also found immense joy in making woodworking projects for his daughters and grandsons. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need even if it meant leaving the dinner table to do so.

Ronnie was not a boastful man, he took little to no pay for the welding repairs he fixed, all he wanted was to help his fellow neighbors. He loved his family and friends with all that he had and it showed through. He will be forever in our hearts.

Proceeding him in death were his parents and in-laws: Lawrence and Cecilia Colombe

Surviving are: His wife: Genevieve Kyro of Tapiola

His daughters: Katina (Thomas) Zimmer of Appleton, WI

Senia (Matthew) Wilterdink of Neenah, WI
