Rosalie "Rose" Jean Freeman, 87, of Chassell, MI, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025,

at Canal View, with loved ones by her side.

Born on April 19, 1938, in Calumet, MI, Rosalie was the beloved daughter of Martin and Anne

(Sorenson) Mihelich. Her Childhood was spent in the family-built home on Lakeshore Drive in

Calumet, lovingly known as the Homestead.

She grew up in Calumet and later pursued manufacturing and real estate careers, but found her

true calling as a nurse's aide at Houghton County Medical Care, where her compassion touched

countless lives.

longtime member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell, where she built deep and

lasting friendships within her community.

Rosalie's vibrant spirit, humor, and genuine heart made her unforgettable. She loved spending

time with family, searching for treasures at rummage sales and thrift stores, walking the shores

of Lake Superior in search of prized agates, and playing endless games of Rummy with her

husband, "Bob", or anyone that would challenge her. She shared a special bond with her

cherished German Shepherd/Malamute Husky mix, Scooby.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Freeman; her sister, Margorie Sten; her

daughters, Jacqueline Hoganson, Patricia (Gary) Jorgenson, and Linda Freeman; and her sons,

Tod (Denise) Hoganson and Robert Freeman Jr.

Rosalie's legacy continues through her fourteen grandchildren- Jamie and Jessica Hoganson,

Alex Waisanen, Mackenzie Maki, Brandy Charleston, Nicole Gauthier, Sarah Schadewald,

Breanna Freeman, Carson Freeman, Mia Murphy, Noah Murphy, Jayson Sypniewski, Rochelle

Seguin, Kelly Luck, and her many beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Marianne, Doris ("Dodo"), and Claire;

and her brother, Daniel.
