Obituary of Rose Kari HoughtonRose M. Kari, 68, a resident of Houghton passed away suddenly Tuesday evening September 6, 2011, at the Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium shorty after being admitted.She was born on September 20, 1942, in Hancock, a daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Mikkola) Vincent. Rose was a graduate of the Hancock High School. On July 2, 1960, she was united in marriage to Robert R. Kari. The couple has resided in Houghton since that time.Rose was employed as a Nurse's Aide with St. Joseph's Hospital in Hancock, Janis Home Health Care and provided private duty home care for many individuals.Faith and love in Christ was a very important part of her life, that gave her strength, hope and love which is imparted to all around her. She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church of Houghton, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Council of Catholic Women. Rose enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, making handmade cards, stamping and gardening. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
