Obituary of Rose Frances Maki Dodgeville Rose F. Maki, 92, a resident of Dodgeville, passed away Wednesday January 25, 2017, at The Light House of Hancock following a short illness. She was born on June 15, 1924, in Dodgeville, MI, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Pleshe) Gasperich. Rose was a graduate of the Houghton High School with the class of 1942. On June 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Kenneth R. Maki and in 1958 he preceded her in death. Rose was employed with Vollwerth and Company, the office of the Houghton County Treasurer and in the food service department at Michigan Technological University. Mrs. Maki was a lifelong member of St. Marys Catholic Church of Atlantic Mine and currently was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of South Range, where she has been active with the Altar Society of the church. She also was a member of the Croation Fraternal Union. Rose enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, dancing and making pasties. Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, her brother John Gasperich, her sisters; Mary Muth, Veronica Spolarich and Angeline Johnson. John Martignon to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton.
