Ruth E. Canales, 96, a resident of Chassell, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Canal View -- Houghton County.

Ruth Canales (Timmonen) was born in Fairport Harbor, OH, on September 6, 1928, a daughter of the late Arvid and Maria (Ridell) Timonen. Ruth was raised in Tapiola and was a graduate of the John A. Doelle School with the class of 1947.

Ruth moved to the Detroit area where she was married to Albert Canales. After have two children the couple parted.

Ruth returned to the Copper County to make her home in Chassell until becoming a patient at Canal View -- Houghton County.

Surviving are: her sons: Albert (Connie) Canales and Chris (Diane) Canales; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

As requested, a private graveside service for Ruth will be held at a later time in the Elo Cemetery.
