Obituary of Ruth Haischer Hancock Ruth V. Haischer, 79, a resident of Hancock passed away Friday morning January 7, 2011, at her home with her family by her side following a lengthy illness.She was born on June 11, 1931, in Oneco Location, a daughter of the late Yalmer and Hilma (Koikka) Moilanen. Ruth graduated with the class of 1948 from the Dollar Bay High School at the age of seventeen. On December 19, 1953, she was united in marriage to Andrew Haischer. Andrew preceded Ruth in death on February 12, 2007. Ruth and Andrew raised seven children. Later in life, Ruth had worked for Leutholds and Ferns and then later for herself as a seamstress.Ruth attended the S.S. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church of Houghton.Preceding her in death were her husband, a grandson Michael Busser, her parents and her sister JoAnne Carlson.Surviving are: Her children; Karen Haischer of HancockJohn (Julianne) Haischer of the Hancock Canal Jack Haischer of Dollar Bay Sandy Busser of Dollar Bay Laura Haischer of Atlantic MineJay (Terri) Haischer of Atlantic MineSherri (D.J.)
