Obituary of Selma Jampsa Coles Creek Selma Jampsa, 102, a former resident of the Coles Creek area, Atlantic Mine, passed away early Tuesday evening, August 8, 2006, at Our Lady of Mercy Convalescent Home in Hubbell where she had been a patient for over the past 7 weeks. The former Selma Morris was born on May 24, 1904, in Redridge a daughter of the late Matt and Hilda Maria (Hirvasaho) Morris, and lived there as an infant. She later lived in Atlantic Mine, and since her marriage has made her home in the Coles Creek area. She was united in marriage to Edward Arnold Jampsa on May 26, 1928, and he preceded her in death in 1951. Mrs. Jampsa had worked as a cook for 20 years for the Houghton County Hospital starting in 1940 and retiring in 1960. Mrs. Jampsa had been a lifelong member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Atlantic Mine. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Surviving are: 1 Son Edward "Mike" (Carol) Jampsa of Calumet 3 Grandsons: Glenn Jampsa of Chicago, IL Kerry (Debby) Jampsa of Chandler, Arizona Steven Jampsa of Atlantic Mine 2 Step Grandsons and 1 Step granddaughter: Rodney (Michele) Grisolono of Laurium Debbie Jackman of Hancock Robert (Diane) Grisolono of Norway, MI 7 Step Great Grandchildren Several nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Selma will be held 2 P.M. Friday August 11, 2006 at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Bucky Beach to officiate. Burial will be in the Atlantic Mine Cemetery.
