Senia Harris

Obituary of Senia Katherine Harris South Range Senia K. Harris, 101, a former resident of South Range, passed away Wednesday evening November 5, 2008, at the Franklin House of Portage Pointe in Hancock where she had been a resident patient. She was born on December 24, 1906, in Painesdale, a daughter of the late Emil and Sophia (Kalliokoski) Piippo. Senia has resided in Painesdale, Toivola, and South Range before becoming a resident patient at the Portage Hospital Long Term Care Unit in 1996. She was united in marriage to William Harris and he preceded her in death in 1975. Senia was a member of the South Range Apostolic Lutheran Church. Mrs. Harris was active with Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly she enjoyed baking nisua & cookies and working with her flowers in her garden. Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, her son Robert Harris, and her sisters; Hilja and Aili. Surviving are: Her granddaughter: Kristy Volkman of Seymour, WI Her great grandson: Riley Volkman of Seymour, WI Her good friends: Bob & Evie Petrelius of South Range Several nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Senia will be held 11 am Saturday November 8, 2008, at the South Range Apostolic Lutheran Church with Rev. Ernest Bylkas to officiate. Burial will be in the Toivola Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday November 8, 2008, from 10am until time of services at the church.
