Obituary of Sidney Dunstan Portage TownshipSidney A. Dunstan Jr., 77, a resident of the Pilgrim Road passed away suddenly Monday November 14, 2011 at his home.He was born on October 13, 1934, in Baltic, a son of the late Sidney A. and Elma (Vaataja) Dunstan Sr.. Sid was raised in Houghton and attended the Houghton Schools. Mr. Dunstan was a veteran having served with the United States Air Force.On September 14th, 1963 he was united in marriage to the former Judith Engman.Sidney had owned and operated his own dairy farm, worked for Vulcan Corporation and the City of Houghton before working for Horner Flooring Company, from which he retired after 25 years as a plant supervisor.Mr. Dunstan was a member of F.O.E. Aerie #1122 of South Range. He worked the Saturday night bingo and also loved to play. He was an avid bowler being awarded Bowler of the Year, loved to spend time outdoors hunting and watch his grandson Chad play hockey.Preceding him in death were his parents and his sisters, Mae, Alice, Loretta, Marcella, and Shirley.Surviving are: His wife: Judith Dunstan of Pilgrim Road His son: Roger (Gina) Dunstan and their son Chad of Pilgrim Road His brothers: Paul Dunstan of Pilgrim Road, James Dunstan of DodgevilleHis sister: Betty Lark of KearsargeNumerous nieces, nephews, and cousinsFuneral services for Sid will be held 1pm Friday November 18, 2011, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Houghton with Rev. Bucky Beach to officiate.
