Obituary of Theodore Huhta Chassell Theodore "Ted" Huhta, 74, a resident of U.S. 41, Chassell, suddenly passed away at his home Monday evening May 1, 2006. He was born on March 24, 1932 in Hurontown a son of the late Kuno and Martha (Hendrickson) Huhta. As a child he attended the Houghton schools and then moved with his family to Chassell, graduating from the Chassell High School with the class of 1949. Ted was a member of the Tapiola Apostolic Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of Post #6507 V.F.W. of Chassell. He was a former member of the Soil Conservation, and the Chassell Strawberry Growers Association. Mr. Huhta had worked for the D.S.S. & A. Rail road, Gundlach Construction Company where he worked on the Portage Lake Life Bridge, and farmed Starwberries for over 20 years. Ted's kind giving spirit for his family and friends will always be remembered. Surviving are: 1 Sister: Bertha Cuff of Marquette 3 Brothers: Rueben (Shirley) Huhta of Chassell Wesley (Lora) Huhta of Chassell Clifford (Shirley) Huhta of Twin Lakes A special Nephew: Thomas (Lisa) Storm of Chassell Numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services for Ted will be held 1 p.m. Thursday May 4, 2006, in the Tapiola Apostolic Lutheran Church of Tapiola with Pastor Ken Storm to officiate. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery, where Post #6507 V.F.W. of Chassell will conduct millitary rites. Friends may call on Thursday May 4, 2006 at the Tapiola Apostolic Lutheran Church from 11 a.m. until time of services.
