Obituary of Thomas Allen Rodeheffer Franklin Twp. Thomas A. Rodeheffer, 64, a resident of Franklin Twp. passed away early Friday morning August 8, 2008, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 1, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of Immanual and Anne (White) Rodeheffer. As a child he attended the Detroit public schools and graduated from Oakland University and Wayne State University. On May 30, 1963, he was united in marriage to the former Rita Matthews. Mr. Rodeheffer was employed with Michigan Technological University where he was the laboratory supervisor for biological science and Captained the research vessels Lake Breeze, Navicula, and Agassiz for the University. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working with wood, sports such as Baseball, and all outdoor activities. Preceding him in death were his parents Surviving are: His wife Rita of Franklin Township His children: John ( Sherri ) Rodeheffer of Chaska, MN Matthew (Valerie) Rodeheffer of New York, New York Beth Rodeheffer of Hancock His grandchildren: Tyler, Zac, and Avery His sister: JoAnn (John) Davis of Harbor Springs, MI His sister-in-law: Barbara (Jack) Carr of Windsar, Ontario His uncle: Noah Rodeheffer of Seattle. WA Numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins A private family service for Tom will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy the family suggests that memorials be given to the Omega House of Houghton or to the hospice organization of one's choice.
