Obituary of Turunen Lillian Chassell Lillian E. Turunen, 84, a resident of Lower Worham Road, Chassell, passed away early Wednesday morning, Dec. 10, 2003, at the Marquette General Hospital in Marquette where she has been a patient for the past week. The former Lillian E. Etapa, was born in Chassell, on October 21, 1919, a daughter of the late Henry and Minne (Bukema) Etapa, and resided in the Pilgrim District, Detroit, and for many years in the Chassell area. She was a graduate of the Houghton High School. On May 20, 1944, she was united in marriage to Waino Turunen, and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1997. Lillian was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell and the V.F.W. Auxilliary #6507 of Chassell Surviving are: 1 Son: William Turunen of Chassell 1 Daughter: Barbara Turunen of Northville 4 Sisters: Mrs. Josephine Kemppainen of Houghton Mrs. Doris Ross of Ontonagon Mrs. Florence Heliste of Falmouth, MI Mrs. Betty Turner of Ash Flat, Arkansas 3 Brothers: Carl (Gladys) Etapa of Hurontown Robert (Darlene) Etapa of Washouga, Washington James (Claudia) Etapa of Pilgrim Location numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2003. at 11 A.M. in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell, with Rev. Ted Koehl to officiate. Spring burial to be in the Chassell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M., Friday, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell and from 10 A.M. until time of services at the church on Saturday. The V.F.W.
