Tyne Koistila

Obituary of Tyne Koistila Hurontown Tyne Koistila, 96, of Hurontwon passed away Monday morning September 7, 2009, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock where she had been a resident patient since this past January. She was born on December 16, 1912, in Finland a daughter of the late John and Ina (Halmes) Erickson. On October 26, 1957, she was united in marriage to Andrew Koistila and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Elvie Ruoho, Sylvia Saari, and Kay Kujansuu. Tyne was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with her family and especially the time she shared with her great granddaughter Megan after school sharing stories. Surviving are: Her son: John Kelly of Twin Lakes Her grandchildren: Jennifer Kelly of Twin Lakes John (Jenette) Kelly Jr. of Houghton Her great grandchildren: Megan & Emma Her special friends: Josephine Eakin of Hurontown Emil Lappala of Portage Entry A private graveside service for Tyne will be held at a later date in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton.
