Obituary of Vera Sylvia Ketola Chassell Vera Sylvia Ketola, age 92, a resident of the Creamery Road, Chassell, passed away at her home on Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, following a lengthy illness, The former Vera Sylvia Sauvola was born on December 12, 1912, in the Pike River Road District, Chassell, a daughter of the late Albert G. and Maria (Kylmanen) Sauvola, and attended the Pike River District School. She later resided in Chicago, Detroit, and in 1969 returned to make her home in the Chassell area. On April 13, 1940, she was united in marriage to Victor Ketola, and he preceded her in death on September 16, 1985. Besides her Husband & Parents she was preceded in death by her twin grandchildren; Luke & John Deakins, and 4 Brothers; George, Edward, Arthur, & William. She was a member of the Chassell Apostolic Lutheran Church. Surviving are: 5 Daughters: Virginia (Edward) Kleimola of Chassell Lucille Deakins of Chassell Carol Ketola of Baraga Joyce Ketola of Chassell Elaine (Eric) Olson of Rindge, New Hampshire 6 Grandchildren: Matthew Deakins; Mark Deakins; Jeffrey (Eileen) Deakins; Marlene (Gary) LaPlante, Joshua Olson; Ted Olson 2 Step Grandchildren: Debbie (Peter) Warnstrom & Jeffrey (Kim) Kleimola 8 Great Grandchildren 5 Step Great Grandchildren Numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at 11 A.M. at the Chassell Apostolic Lutheran Church with, Jim Johnson to officiate. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday 1 hour prior to the services. The Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell is serving the family.
