Viola Mayworm

Obituary of Viola Mayworm Isle Royal Location Viola I. Mayworm, 87, a former resident of Isle Royal Location, passed away Monday morning March 18, 2013, at the Winona House of Portage Pointe where she had been a resident patient for the past three years. She was born on May 12, 1925, in Rockland, MI, a daughter of the late John and Ina (Luttinen) Koistila. Her family moved to Isle Royal Location when Viola was a child and she attended the Houghton Schools. As a young adult, Viola had worked for various retail businesses in the Houghton area. In November of 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Mayworm. The couple had made their home in Isle Royal Location next door to Viola's family home. Robert preceded her in death on May 6, 2002. Mrs. Mayworm was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church of Houghton. She was a wonderful homemaker loving to bake and cook for her family. Her meatballs and Bandit Brownies will especially be missed. Preceding her in death were her husband, her grandson, Bradley Kallungi, her parents, and her siblings, Andrew, Arne, Otto, Gertrude, Rachel and Fannie. Surviving are: Her children: Paula (Bob Zulinski) Kallungi Zulinski of Hancock Brian (Christina) Mayworm of Calumet Her grandsons: Greg (Kelly) Kallungi, Anders Kallungi, Gabe Kallungi and Craig Mayworm Her great granddaughters: Allison and Hannah Kallungi Her nieces and nephew: Trudy Richards, Judy Maki, Jana Chambers and David Riutta Numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins A memorial service for Viola will be held 2 pm Friday March 25, 2013, at S.S. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church of Houghton with Rev. David Weber to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton. Friends may call on Friday from 1 pm until time of services at S.S. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church of Houghton.
