Obituary of Violet Kemppainen Negaunee Violet V. Kemppainen, 75, a resident of Negaunee and formerly of Boston Location-Hancock, passed away Thursday April 27, 2006, at the Bell Memorial Hospital in Ishpeming where she had been a patient for the past 4 days. She was born on August 23, 1930, in Superior Location a daughter of the late Jacob and Hilda (Ollila) Lindgren. As a child she attended the Houghton Schools. Violet has resided in Houghton, Hancock, Cheboygan, WI, Boston Location and for the past 4 years has made her home in Negaunee to be close to her sons. Violet was united in marriage to Carl Tapani and he preceded her in death in 1973. She was then united in marriage to Paul Kemppainen in September of 1974 and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2000. Mrs. Kemppainen had worked in the medical field as an Aid, for Doctor Kertti in Hancock, and then as a sale's person for various companies where she would hold home parties. Violet was a member of the Hope Fellowship Church of Houghton and New Life Church of Marquette. Also preceding her in death was 1 daughter Beverly Koski; 6 Sisters and 5 Brothers Surviving are: 2 Sons: Rick (Pat) Tapani of Negaunee Dave (Debby) Tapani of Palmer 1 Step-son: Greg Kemppainen of Calumet 5 Grandchildren: Chuck Tun, Becky Porres, Kelly Tapani, Megan Kemppainen, Devin Tapani 4 Great Grandchildren: Corina, Angelina, Julian, and Benjamin 1 Brother: Raymond (Margaret) Lindgren of Hancock A Good friend: Fay Kemppainen of Tamarack Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Violet will be held 1 P.M. this Monday May 1, 2006, in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Pastor Lew Pizzala of the New Life Church in Marquette to officiate. Burial will be in the Oskar Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday April 30, 2006, from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock and on Monday from 12 noon until time of the services.
