Obituary of William Dorvinen Hancock William E. Dorvinen, 76, a former resident of Elevation Street, Hancock, passed away early Thursday morning, December 16, 2004, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, where he was a resident patient. He was born on October 22, 1928, in Oskar, a son of the late Eino and Emma (Wayrynen) Dorvinen. He later lived in Hancock for most of his lifetime, except for a short time in the Veterans Facility in Iron Mountain before becomming a resident patient at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, several years ago. He was a veteran having served with the United States Army in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Dorvinen has been a carpenter for most of his lifetime, and was also employed at the Painesdale Copper Mine for a short time. He was a graduate of the Hancock High School. Surviving are: 4 Daughters: Mrs. Beverely (Neal) Martindale of Redford, MI, Mrs. Dawna (Hal) Behrendt of the Houghton Canal District, Mrs. Diana (Dale) Eddy of Flint, Mrs. Delphine (Shane) Brezee of Chelsea, MI 4 Sons: Edward (Micki) Dorvinen of Manitowoc, WI, Dale (Faith) Dorvinen of Green Bay, WI, Daniel Dorvinen of Calumet, David Dorvinen of Hancock, 21 Grandchildren 1 Brother: Lawrence (Elaine) Dorvinen of Green Bay, WI, several nieces, nephews & numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday December 20, 2004, at 11 A.M. at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hancock, with the Rev. James Gallagher to officiate. Spring burial to be in the Oskar Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday at the funeral home from 4 to 8 P.M.
