William John Hanner, 76, a resident of Dodgeville, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Omega House in Houghton.

Bill was born February 17, 1948, in Laurium, a son of the late Adrian and Lorraine Hanner. He was raised in Hubbell and graduated from Lake Linden – Hubbell High School with the class of 1966.

On August 23, 1969, Bill was united in marriage at St. Cecilia Church in Hubbell to the former Dorothy Hiltunen of Tamarack City. He worked at White Pine Mine and Inland Steel of Virginia, Minnesota. Bill then worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation as a Bridge Operator until his retirement in 2014. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing baseball where he was a fastpitch pitcher for local teams in the Copper Country and Minnesota.

Besides his parents, preceding Bill in death are his wife of 50 years, Dorothy, and a brother, Richard.

He is survived by his two sons: Kevin and Jeffrey, 6 grandchildren, and two brothers, Pat and Paul.

Per Bill's wishes, no public service will take place.
