Obituary of William Simula Hancock William H. Simula, 85, a resident of Hancock passed away on Monday July 20, 2009 at his daughter's home in Dollar Bay following a short illness.He was born on June 22, 1924, in Mohawk, a son of the late William and Mary (Muonio) Simula. He was a graduate of the Calumet Schools with the class of 1941. Mr. Simula was a veteran having served with United States Army Air Force during World War II.On August 1, 1953, he was united in marriage to the former Jennie Wuotinen. The couple had resided in the Detroit area for over 40 years and after he retired from the US Postal service they retired to Hancock in 1986.Mr. Simula was a member of the Old apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting & fishing.Preceding him in death were his parents, his sisters; Florence, Emma, Effie, Lillian, Lyla, and his brothers: Raymond and Robert.Surviving are: His wife Jennie Simula of Hancock His children: Paul (Sue) Simula of Battleground, WAGlen (Lorri) Simula of Hancock Carol (Douglas) Linge of Battleground, WALenore (Byron) Ek of Battleground, WAKim (Darrell) Wuebben of Dollar Bay 45 grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren His twin sister: Eva Simonson of ChassellNumerous nieces, nephews, and cousinsFuneral services for William will be held 11 am Friday July 24, 2009, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock with Clarence Marttila to officiate. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Calumet.
