Obituary of Zelma May Hoffman Skanee Zelma M. (Ellwood E.) Hoffman, 89, a former resident of Skanee, passed away at the home of her son Monday evening June 6, 2011. She was born on May 24, 1922, in Claire, MI, a daughter of the late Otto and (Acre) Glosch. As a child she moved to the Pontiac area where she graduated from the Pontiac Schools. Zelma was united in marriage to LeRoy Smith and after they had parted was united in marriage to Ellwood E. Hoffman on July 13, 1955. The couple had resided in Lake Orion, MI, Drayton Plains, MI, and for over the past 30 years had made their home in Skanee. Mrs. Hoffman had been an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Skanee. She enjoyed the Quilting group of the church and painting portraits as a young woman. Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister, her brother, and her grandson Barry. Surviving are: Her husband: Ellwood E. Hoffman a resident patient at PortagePointe in Hancock Her children: Roger (Oliphay) Smith of Houghton Mike Hoffman of Helena, MT Christine (Ron) Allen of Highland, MI Suzanne (David) Donaldson of Milford, MI 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren Several nieces, nephews, and cousins As requested no services for Zelma will be held at this time.
